The Role of Nanosilica in Ameliorating the Deleterious Effect of Salinity Shock on Cucumber Growth

A greenhouse experiment was conducted ‎to study the influence of application four concentrations silica nanoparticles (NSi) in mitigating negative effect salinity shock on ‎cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.). Seedlings were sprayed with NSi ‎ (0, 100, 200, and 300 ppm) as treatment, plants subjected to either no (NSCh) or (WSCh) 3250 ppm for two days. Yield vegetative parameters, K+, Na+, K/Na ratio, Si, proline contents measured. The treatments prevented harmful effects yield, a reduction 9.19% treated NSi3 under WSCh compared NSCh. Salinity caused an accumulation roots other plant parts method protection. NSi2 leading increase ratio. Si roots, leaves, fruits increased NSi. results interaction showed significant ‎effect all ‎traits except length, leaf area, chlorophyll, ‎root ‎potassium content.
